Overview of class

Theatre Orchestration is an accelerated class in instrumentation, arranging, orchestration, and creative musical design. The class explores the history of theatre orchestration, using the analysis of past exemplary orchestrations to inform each student's study and practical application of orchestration technique for the stage. Emphasis is placed on current technological practices and notation (copy) standards.

Over $75 *The Theatre Program is switching to Dorico notation software, due to the discontinuation of Finale. There are several levels of the software, each with a FREE 60 day trial and with education discounts. It is recommended that you confer with Dr. Nelson prior to purchasing. There are also cross-grade discounts if you currently own Finale.
