Overview of class
In this advanced visual storytelling class, students will examine properties of a figure and their effect on characterization and theatrical silhouette. Over the course of the quarter students will develop individual styles of drawing and painting using variety of art mediums as applied to theatre design. Employing thorough informational and visual research, quick gesture drawing, elaborate linear drawing and project-specific color work, students will engage as visual storytellers in creation of bold theatrical figures and character solutions in realistic (proportional figure), stylized (non-realistic figure), exaggerated (fantasy figure) and thematic (Tarot deck - or another of student's choice) fashion.
