Overview of class

This class will consist of some theoretical, and mainly practical interaction with different movement modalities, and experiential anatomy. Reading, journaling, and a regular movement practice will be the methods of discovery, as we bridge our internal spaces to the external through movement, bridging function and expression in the body. Modalities will include Bartenieff Fundamental Patterns, yoga, West African, Modern, Hip-Hop and ballet, as well as somatic work such as Feldenkrais, improvisation, and authentic movement.

Enrollment Requirements: This class is restricted to Dance majors/minors & Music Theatre Certificate students during pre-registration, after which time enrollment will be open to everyone who has taken the prerequisites (when pre-reqs are applicable) or have placed in the level
