It is intended to enhance the student's kinesthetic abilities as an artist-scholar through exercises geared towards strength, body alignment, coordination, balance, personal range of motion, and musicality through ballet technique. Activities will include floor, barre, center, and across the floor exercises along with reading and written responses. With an emphasis on dance as a method for scholastic inquiry, this course insists on using the embodied form of ballet technique as a method that requires critical reflection.
