Overview of class
Development of specialized clinical skills in the student's area of clinical focus via accumulation of a minimum of 35 clock hours in clinical skill development. Approval of the clinical specialization plan by the SLP-D committee is required.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Use principles of storytelling and improvisation to clearly articulate their professional goals and experiences to a variety of audiences
2. Manage their personal job search strategy from initial identification of opportunities through accepting an offer
3. Establish and maintain a thorough and professional online presence
4. Discuss ways to effectively manage competing demands for time and energy
Evaluation Method
This course is designed to support the student's career development and acquisition of specialized skills. Assessments include reflection essays, an e-portfolio, group discussions, and the accumulation of a minimum of 35 hours in a clinical skill development area.
