Overview of class

This course focuses on the relationship between creative media practice and the global arts and entertainment industries in a global city such as London. Sponsored by the School of Communication Office of External Programs, Internships, & Career Services (EPICS) in cooperation with the London School of Economics' (LSE) Department of Media & Communications, the Global Media & Communications Seminar (GMCS) features a combination of lectures and London-based employer site visits that allow students to develop an understanding of and gain exposure to the global media and communications industries. Students will first learn about the Global Media & Communications industries in the seminar class taught in Evanston during winter quarter. Upon completion of the class, students travel alongside faculty and staff to London during spring break, where they engage with prominent industry professionals in the field and Northwestern/London School of Economics faculty.
