Learning Objectives
Level 5 is a sequel to Level 4 and provides students of intermediate level with a wide range of keyboard skills emphasizing multiple-parts score reading, accompanying and collaborative skills, and advanced keyboard theory. Other keyboard theory topics include Augmented sixth chords, Neapolitan-sixth chords. Continuing skills are two-hand creative accompaniments from existing harmonizations, and solo repertoire, and technique. Students will also reinforce and apply the theory concepts learned through the quarter in a composition project. The solo piano Quarter-Long Piece will emphasize musical expression and cumulative reading skills in the setting of a class recital.
