Overview of class

This course will introduce students to methods used in psychological research. Research methods will be explored through readings, lectures, discussions, and hands-on research projects. Students will get experience developing a research question, designing, and carrying out a study, analyzing data with basic statistical techniques, and presenting their research findings to their classmates. Students will complete three research papers in APA format throughout the quarter, as well as in-class exercises that build on our textbook readings.

Registration Requirements

Students must have taken PSYCH 201 or an approved substitute before enrolling in PSYCH 205. Students with AP credit for STAT 202 or AP credit for STAT 210 need to contact psych-advising@u.northwestern.edu about permission to enroll, because CAESAR does not automatically accept that as the prerequisite.
