Overview of class

This course will consider the ways in which philosophers have understood the life of the mind to unfold, from belief and doubt an individual may experience to disagreement and the need for toleration in a community.

Learning Objectives

Students will hone their critical reading, writing, and thinking skills while also engaging in historical analysis of significant intellectual developments and philosophical analysis of arguments and values.
