Overview of class
This course will help you understand and gain the editing skills, editorial judgment and editorial management required of an editor, producer or reporter at a magazine-styled media company; gather insight into the media industry; understand a magazine's relationship to its audience; and explore the role of editing in a multi-platform media landscape. This course will give you the skills to master magazine-think and excel in an editorial workplace regardless of medium, with a focus on story framing, word smithing, pitching, guiding writers and—yes—lots of (fun) editing.
