Overview of class

This course analyzes how live performance and dramatic forms of communication are exhibited in social behavior and cultural expressions. Through the perspectives of race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, etc., students are introduced to the concept of performance as an important social and communicative practice using theoretical texts and embodied learning as ways to explore fundamental ideas, methods, and issues in performance studies.
