Overview of class

In this course, students will be introduced to the conceptual and technical aspects of creating performance. During the quarter, students will engage the work of a wide array of performing artists as well as Performance Studies scholars and theorists. In addition to reading and discussion, students will experiment with the diverse approaches they encounter in class to create their own performances and learn methods for giving and receiving thoughtful and consensual critical feedback.
