Overview of class

This course is an introduction to the compositional principles of dancemaking. We will examine how dance performance is an expression of human experience and explore a variety of tactics to communicate through the body as an artistic medium and cultural extension of ourselves. We will discuss and apply methods for developing content, form, and context through movement studies; practice dance critique and feedback processes; and craft original dance works that aim to synthesize the concepts and ideologies presented within the class.
