Overview of class
The history of the American film industry is multi-faceted and complex. This course will introduce a variety of contexts in which this history is engaged, from industry studies to theoretical interventions. Over the course of the quarter, we will evaluate and discuss the assigned films in an effort to trace the development of Hollywood from its earliest feature films to its contemporary incarnations.
