Overview of class
This is an introductory-level course in which we will study the Sun, planets, moons, and other denizens of our Solar System. We will examine how our own solar system formed, discuss solar systems recently discovered around other stars, and explore the possibility of extra-terrestrial life inside and outside of our solar system. Throughout the course, we will emphasize evidence gathering and critical thinking: how and why astronomers know what they know today.
