Overview of class
Journalists increasingly rely on data to understand the topics they are covering, to find news and to present information to their audience. This class provides a foundation in finding, acquiring, analyzing and presenting data in a journalistic context. Students will learn how to identify data sources, evaluate the value and accuracy of data, and find newsworthy information in data. They will also learn to differentiate good and bad uses of data in journalism.
