Overview of class

This course introduces critical approaches to the public humanities and creates space to explore what it means to be a performance-oriented public scholar. We will consider why and how one creates public-facing scholarship and practices community-engaged work. Along with studying various methodologies of the public humanities and completing multimodal assignments, the course will highlight the varied public practices of theatre, dance, and performance studies scholars.
