Overview of class
In this project-based workshop, students develop original audiovisual or sound arts works that tell a story about the past. Each student pursues a creative process tailored to their curiosities. By creating original archival or oral historical projects, students learn: 1) how to use their creative practice to ask and answer questions about the past; and 2) the research, communication, and project management skills required to successfully execute a complex creative project.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will demonstrate their ability to: 1) Formulate a historical inquiry; 2) Critically interpret primary and secondary sources; 3) Plan, manage, and execute a historical audiovisual or sound arts project.
