Understand and apply principles of basic and applied acoustics, including sound measurement, calibration of microphones and sound sources.

Stuart Rosen and Peter Howell (2011), Signals and Systems for Speech and Hearing, Emerald Group, UK. (The previous edition of this book (1991) differs little from the current one. Either edition is OK, but 2011 edition is recommended.)
