Overview of class

The dual mission of this course is to examine the way sports intersects with society and to learn how to formulate effective commentary. We will look at how the stories of race, gender, organized labor and LGBTQ issues play out in the world of sports. The second component is developing the skills to debate these issues with intelligence, clarity and fairness across written, audio and video platforms.
