Overview of class
Medill Explores is a 5-day course designed to reinforce IMC concepts through experiential learning. Students will make connections between classroom learning, scholarship, and lessons from guest speakers that will inform their perspective of IMC and best practices in media, brand, strategic communication, or analytics and insight. Concurrently, students will immerse themselves in the culture of the course location through an observational research assignment and commentary on how the culture responds to a given research question. Students will learn from guest speakers how to develop resonant IMC solutions in the sequence(s) in which the course is focused. Students will deliver an analysis of global IMC specific to strategic communications, branding, media, and/or analytics/technology.
