Overview of class

This course examines the relation between race and feeling. In what way do certain emotions stick to some bodies and not others, and how can this help us account for structures of privilege and power in the U.S.? How have writers and artists thought of race on emotional terms—how does it, indeed, feel to be a problem?

Teaching Method

Lecture-discussion.
