Overview of class

This course examines self-presentation as a means of navigating ethnoracialization. How do context and ‘imagined audiences' influence which identities become more salient? We explore the constraining power of ethnoracial logics and how strategies, such as whitewashing, deracialization, toggling, and codeswitching, are employed in political campaigns, media, and online spaces.
