Overview of class
Working in concert with analysis practices studied in RTVF 220, this course will introduce fundamentals of collaboration among artists working in different cinematic crafts over a series of projects that build skills for acquisition and post-production for television, film and interactive media. Through lectures, labs and individual and group assignments, all students will develop basic skills for work in audiovisual media (cinematography, sound, editing, and screen performance). We will use the experience of audiovisual production to interrogate contemporary artistic and industrial practices and processes (including how they are affected by race, gender, and class) in this necessarily collaborative field.
