Overview of class

Advanced amplification, including alternatives to traditional hearing aids such as over-the-counter (OTC) amplification and personal sound amplification processors (PSAPs). Hearing assistive technology, and personal and group amplification options. Focus on adult device use.

Reserved for Doctor of Audiology students only.

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to select, configure, and program hearing aids and complementary technology that are appropriate to patient's goals and provide measurable benefit. Students will be able to accurately verify and validate a wide range of devices and features including assistive technology and advanced signal processing.

Evaluation Method

Participation and quality of weekly writing assignments and discussion boards, accurate completion of periodic lab assignments.
