Overview of class

This course is an introduction to the field of gender studies. The course will tackle debates in the field from a range of disciplinary perspectives. How are femininity and masculinity defined and embodied across cultures? How do race, class, religion and sexuality intersect with gender? What is feminism? We will explore these and other questions.
