Overview of class

Get hungry! ENG 105-6 explores the art of composition through writing, reading, and talking about food. From reflecting on personal food memories to crafting arguments about how and why we eat what we do, this course will hone your writing skills in areas crucial to college level writing.

Learning Objectives

Together this quarter we will…
1) Identify elements of "good" and "bad" writing styles and arguments.
2) Develop effective writing styles for a variety of genres.
3) Construct compelling thesis statements.
4) Locate and effectively utilize evidence to support an argument.
5) Converse cogently and convincingly with others' arguments in writing and conversation.
6) Evaluate your peers' writing, and self-assess your own writing, constructively.
