Overview of class

Fundamental concepts in organic chemistry will be covered. The topics will include important functional groups and will include: nomenclature, structure, properties, and multistep synthesis. Reaction mechanisms for organic transformations will be presented, and synthesis strategies will be covered.

Registration Requirements

Prerequisite: Grade of C- or better in CHEM 215-1 and 235-1. Students enrolled in this course MUST also enroll in the associated laboratory course, CHEM 235-2.

Prerequisite: Student must have received a C- or higher or be currently enrolled in CHEM 215-1 to register for this course.
