Overview of class

In this advanced art class, the students will explore and interpret the properties of the human figure and their effect on characterization and costume silhouette while developing drawing and painting skills in variety of mediums. Over the course of this class, students will develop and draw various character concepts while engaging in thorough visual research, quick gesture drawing, elaborate linear drawing and detailed color work as visual storytellers.

Class Materials (Required)

Course materials include but are not limited to: Various art supplies including paper sheets, drawing pads, pencils, pens, brushes, ink, watercolors, watercolor gouache, markers (including Copic and Tombow), etc…

Cost of materials: minimum $100

Enrollment Requirements

Enrollment Requirements: Registration in this course is reserved for students in the Theatre Department MFA Directing or Design Programs. Other students may register with instructor consent and a permission number.
