Overview of class

Introduction to music software, hardware, techniques and tools for the professional musician. Topics include basic acoustics, audio recording & editing, music notation, acoustic analysis, processing and synthesis, among others. Assignments include projects, exercises, readings, and presentations. This is a hands-on introductory course, so you will have the opportunity to try out a variety of softwares and techniques. Assignments will have a fixed set of skills-based learning objectives while remaining open enough that you can work in any genre.

Registration Requirements

Class Materials (Required)

Personal laptops are required for all students, along with noise-isolating earbuds or over-ear headphones. No other materials required for purchase.
