Overview of class

This class is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in video journalism. It is intended for students interested in pursuing careers in all forms of video journalism including documentary, television news and interactive web reporting.

The primary emphasis of this class will be on reporting; getting the facts right, getting the right sources and telling the story in an engaging and understandable way while using a camera to gather stories and using video to tell stories.

Students will also learn how to write to their pictures, how to write for the ear, how to make stories compelling and character-driven.
