Overview of class
Baroque Performance Practice: This course will be a brief overview of historical performance sources and repertoire from roughly 1600-1750. Participants will explore solo and ensemble music outside the canon of common repertoire while studying playing techniques and sound aesthetics of the 17th and 18th centuries. All instrumentalists are welcome to participate. Grading will be based on class participation, brief written assignments, and final in-class performance of a short solo work.
